Why 'Android One' is a Failure?

We all have heard about Google's Android One program (i.e., a program in which Google will prepare software and the hardware will be manufactured by other companies in which software updates will be given by Google). Watching its overall success, it is unable to take much popularity in the market and is comparatively contradicted as a failure, as this program was started exactly with an expectation to be popular, but in reality, it was unable to be such popular in the market along with this it was also launched with a view that all consecutive devices will soon start having Android One but due to the failure, it couldn't stand out of the expectations.

In 2014, Sundar Pichai introduced the Google Android One program. In which the special feature was that they would provide the complete software support even up to two years by Google, in every consecutive-months, there would be a security-patch update provided by Google and all latest Stock UI update can be seen on those Android One smartphones which were beneficial for the consumers; as they were really cheaper. Thus, Google had signed a partnership with three companies like Spice, Micromax, and Karbonn. But when they are enrolled in the market it was unable to take a place in the profit, probably because, at that time most of the people were unknown about this and mostly, these devices don't show any such great performance as they were only manufactured with average features. When Google introduced their Android One with Redmi 1s, only then because of great features and good performance as seen at such a cheaper rate led it to a Hit in the market. In 2017, Mi A1 was launched with Android One which was a blockbuster hit and was the best and highest selling smartphone under the price range of 15,000 at that time. Thus all these led to an instant Hit and similarly, Nokia also started to manufacture its devices with Android One.

Other companies, don't want to go with Android One program because mostly all of it is usually big-companies and have a big market share in India with a philosophy of giving a complete experience in the market by itself only, thus if they give this software control to Google then the total experience control will be under Google which is more likely to show Bloatwares and Ads .thus mostly these companies wanted to keep this control to themselves only, unlike that of Xiaomi, which brought it's Android One to earn by showing Ads.

Thus in 2020 itself, Android One is yet not seen to accomplish much success in today's market. Thus accordingly, if Google starts to manufacture its pixel phones with Stock Android One at a cheaper price then only Google can overcome this and would probably get a Hit into the markets.
