Google adds cast button in now playing page of Google Podcast application on Android

Back in March, Google hosted an AMA and promised a handful of new features in Google Podcast Application. Google has added a cast button in now playing screen of google podcast on Android. This is rolled out through the latest 11.27 beta version. Google added this feature to enhance the experience of the users who prefer the Google Podcast app for listening podcasts.

Google has added the cast button to the top-left corner of the home page as a part of this year's redesign and expansion of the podcast app to iOS, with this update Google has addressed the complaint of seamlessly casting once the user plays an episode or a show.

Tapping on the cast button pops up a list of casting devices available. The new Cast button replaces the old Info button to view the details of the podcast. Users can replicate the Info button’s functionality by tapping on the podcast’s title above the Play/Pause button, which is arguably better than having a dedicated Info button.

As of now, this feature is only available to beta users only. We could expect the software giant to roll out the feature to the stable version in the coming days. It should make its way to iOS as well in the future.
