ZTE Axon 20 5G: First phone with under-display camera


ZTE has launched Axon 20 5G the first commercially-ready for purchase smartphone with an under-display selfie camera. Notches shrunk and we got punch holes, pop-up, and flipping workarounds but it was only a matter of time before we got an under-display solution. Several makers are working on the tech, The company has been teasing the smartphone for a few weeks now and today ZTE introduced its Axon 20 5G in China.

Specifications:

ZTE Axon 20 5G sports a 6.92-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,460 pixels) OLED display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display supports 10bit color and covers 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. It is powered by the Snapdragon 765G octa-core processor and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). The phone has a quad rear camera setup and a single hidden selfie shooter. On the rear, the camera setup includes 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor, and finally a 2-megapixel quaternary sensor. On the front, the phone comes with a 32-megapixel sensor that stays hidden until you open the front camera. ZTE Axon 20 5G supports 5G connectivity and it packs a 4,220mAh battery which charges via type-C port with support for 30W fast charging. The phone measures 172.1x77.9x7.9mm and weigh 198 grams.

Pricing & availability:

ZTE Axon 20 5G will be available in black, white, purple, and orange colors with official sales in China starting from 10th September. The base variant 6/128GB is priced at CNY 2,198 ($322), the 8/128GB variant is priced at CNY 2,498 ($366) and the 8/256GB variant is priced at CNY 2,798 ($410). It is currently listed on ZTE Mall only and there is no information on international availability yet.
