PUBG Mobile coming back in India? PUBG with JIO or AIRTEL? Will it be possible?

India is a crucial market for some of the biggest tech companies operating globally. This is why after the Indian government banned PUBG Mobile, the consequences seem poor. According to a survey, the global downloads of PUBG dipped by over 26 percent in September, owing to the ban in India. Once the top contributor to app charts, PUBG Mobile has moved down in the position ladder but the company is determined to bring it back. Reportedly, PUBG Corporation, based in Korea, is talking to Bharti Airtel for the distribution rights of PUBG Mobile in India.

PUBG Mobile is reportedly looking to re-launch its game in India in partnership with Bharti Airtel. The company was earlier reported to be in talks with Reliance Jio to bring back the game for the Indian market. However, as per a new report, the talks have been off now. Now, the company is in early talks with Airtel for a re-launch in the Indian market.

The Indian government banned PUBG Mobile due to its Chinese connection, Tencent Games. However, the company immediately breaks ties with the Chinese company after the ban. The brand then initiated talks with the Reliance Jio platform for a tie-up, though Entrackr reports that the talks have been off now.

PUBG Corporation is a subsidiary of Bluehole Games, the South Korean company that developed PUBG. The South Korean company was earlier in discussions with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries' Jio Platforms, which, according to the publication, have been shelved for good.

If the deal comes through, it will help PUBG get hold of one of its largest markets, and facilitate Airtel's entry into the online gaming market in India.

Following its ban in India, PUBG Corp announced that Tencent Games would no longer handle its India franchise. PUBG Corporation is the publisher and developer of the 2017 blockbuster battle royale video game, PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG), on multiple platforms. This led to speculations that PUBG Mobile will soon be unbanned in India.
