MARUTI JIMNY 4x4: A Competitor to Mahindra THAR

Many rumors on Maruti Suzuki's upcoming launches have come in the market. In this, article we're going to cover the rumors which true in some aspects.

So first let's start with the biggest rumor on Maruti Suzuki, which says there is an upcoming SUV which is basically made on Baleno platform and will be a sub-four meter SUV, now this news is real or is not 100% sure but one thing is definitely sure that Maruti being Maruti they might offer such SUVs with not much of a difference in size, for example, earlier Maruti Suzuki used to manufacture Ritz and Swift with not much of a difference in size, and similarly there are some other cars, which comes under a similar price point. So, Maruti can do such a thing and on the hard-tech platform on which cars like Baleno, Swift, Ertiga and you even have the new WagonR made on that. Thus it is expected that Maruti will another vehicle on that platform, that could be an SUV, as Maruti doesn't have many SUVs in the market, and other brands like Hyundai, Tata Motors and Kia, they are dominating the SUV space at the present date, So, will Maruti will try to bring SUV in India? Of course yes. This SUV is expected to be a little smaller than the Brezza or maybe similar size to the Brezza, and it might come at a similar price point to the Brezza, There's no 100% clarity on it it's still a rumor, I would suggest to keep it in the non confirmed list rather than putting it in your waitlist.

There's a car that can or might be already on your waitlist, Maruti Suzuki is trying to bring Jimny into the Indian car market, which means that they have already started the process to acquire assembly aspects. which means this year or at the starting of the next year Jimny will be coming, Why Jimny didn't come to India yet? the answer is simple, Vehicles are produced in Japan and then it was exported to Europe, and after the new emission norms and safety norms, etc came, Suzuki, failed to meet those because of which Jimny got discontinued there, Now they have to set up the market at least somewhere, So they are going to offer it to the enthusiasts who are waiting for this car badly from years.

The expected price of this car will be between Rs. 10 - 12 Lakhs, this car will with a 1.5L Petrol Engine only, it won't come with a diesel engine, there will be no turbochargers from what we understand, and it will be offered in a 4x4 avatar, that means Maruti Suzuki will bring Jimny in the market to give a competition to Mahindra Thar.

The next news is a Maruti Celerio will be coming around March/April 2021. This will be an all-new car, which will be built on a hard-tech platform, which is used in the new WagonR, Ertiga, Baleno, and Swift, and it will also come with the same engines, 1.0L Petrol, 1.2L Petrol, 1.0L Petrol with CNG, So there are plenty of option they are giving, and if you want AMT then you can get AMT also with 1.0L Petrol and 1.2L Petrol engines. This car can a little costlier than the WangonR, it will come with decent features and at the end of the day Maruti might wish to hit the Kwid segment, Tiago segment,  Santro segment, and maybe also the grand i10 segment with the 1.0L and 1.2L engines. If a buyer doesn't want a WagonR kind of car for them Celerio would be a good choice for them from Maruti's talking point of view. So if you go to a Maruti dealership and your budget is somewhere around 5-8 Lakhs then there will be many options for you.

So the last and final news from the Maruti Suzuki is Brezza, Ciaz, and Ertiga will be getting a diesel engine. So you can expect diesel engines in these three cars by the first half of next year.
