The All New Tata Safari 2021 : All Details

Tata Safari was launched in 1998, this vehicle is loved by almost everyone. So let's move toward the new generation Safari 2021, so the company claims that they made a revolution in the Safari 2021 rather than an evolution, it means many changes have been made in this vehicle and it is being designed as a Modern SUV.

So let's start with the base, this vehicle is being made on the Omega ARC platform (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture), basically, this is the same platform on which Tata Harrier is made. This platform is derived from Land Rover's D8 architecture and engineered jointly by Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover Team. So the Harrier already comes on the same platform which is 6 seater, now Safari will come on the same platform which is 7 seater.

Now let's move towards the difference in Tata Safari and Harrier, if we see Safari as a product so it is a 7 seater vehicle so its length has increased by 63 mm, its height has also increased, close to 90 mm, its width is the same and wheelbase is same, but as its a larger vehicle so its tire size is increased to 18 inches with 4 disc brakes, whereas Harrier comes with only 2 disc brakes. Safari's ground clearance has also increased, we yet don't know exactly how much it is, but we'll come to know very soon.

The next important element you might want to know is the design changes, so the front grill of the vehicle comes with Chrome finish, the tried to give a premium touch to it, it comes with split headlamps and with daytime running LEDs, if you notice from the side then you can see Tata Harrier has sloping roofline but Safari comes with almost a straight roof or you can see a stepped roof on it. Safari has different roof rails for sunroof and non-sunroof in terms of utility, on the non-sunroof vehicle you can put baggage up to 130kgs and on the vehicles with sunroofs, those are basically for aesthetic not for real use, on the rear part of Safari, the taillamps resembles more or less to the Harrier. The interiors of the Safari comes with the Signature Oyster White Interiors, and the steering wheel telescopic, if you see the top model then you'll notice that it has a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and it has an 8.8-inch touch screen system, which has features like Android Auto, Apple Car Play, iRA connected car technology and also reverse parking camera. It also comes with the Automatic Climate Control, Tyre pressure monitoring system, Electronic parking brake with auto hold, 6-way Powered Driver Seat.

The Safari comes with only 1 engine option which is 2-liter diesel, no petrol option yet, 6-speed manual transmission and 6 speed automatic, 170 bhp, 350 nm torque, it comes with the same engine which is there in the Harrier. So you might be wanting to know that is this a 4 wheel drive, No, it is not a 4 wheel drive, it is a front-wheel-drive vehicle.

The price announcement is expected to be around 4th February but it is not cleared that when will be the announcement will be made sure, but the bookings will be started from 4th February itself, and you can check out this vehicle at the nearest dealership. The company has just revealed 3 color options which are Royal Blue, White, and Grey. The available variants are XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, and XZ+, so the plus variant has the sunroof as it's extra feature apart from that nothing is there.

It's estimated price would be around 18 - 27 lacs on-road.

So if you're a Tata or Safari Fan, then it will be a piece of great news for you. Stay Tuned to CERadar for more updates on automobiles and technology.
