New Maruti Suzuki Celerio - Launch Date, Price, Specifications:

There have been delays in many launches due to the pandemic, and most of the people's waiting tenure has also been increased because of the problem caused by the supply chain management. Parts which are needed are not coming from outside, because of which in some cases buyers are not getting cars, and in some cases, cars are not even being manufactured, due to multiple reasons, and more importantly the new launches are being delayed now. Alcazar launch is delayed, Celerio launch delayed. So we'll be going to discuss in-depth about Maruti Celerio in this article.

So what changes will Celerio go through?

So Celerio had come in the market around 2012-2013, and since then small changes have only made to this car like the facelift had minor changes in it like its grill. But this time, the New Celerio which will be going to come will be an All-New Generation Celerio, which means the car will change completely, will be made on a new platform. design elements will be changed, and changes in features will be made, they'll try to change the touch and feel of the materials. The All-New Celerio was supposed to be launched by April - May, but now it seems the timeline will be shifted forward. The expected launch time is around June, hopefully, if all the pandemic situation gets better.

The Celerio to be made on a new platform, this platform is new for Celerio but it's not new for Maruti. The New Celerio will be made on the Heatect Platform, already many other cars are made on this platform. Cars like WagonR, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga, and Maruti's major cars are being made on this Platform, and Celerio will also be made on the same platform, which will result in cost-cutting for Maruti. This platform's reputation is not that good in India, for the simple fact that the Heartect Platform has low safety ratings like Swift 2 star, Ertiga 3 star, WagonR 2 star, so these things don't go in the favor of this Platform. So because of these reasons, many people are not happy with it, so let's see what happens and what does Maruti does with the platform, will they strengthen it or not.

The design of this car will be completely changed, more features will come in it than earlier, so you can expect projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs. Changes will be made in the interior also, you can expect features like Touchscreen system, Android Auto/ Apple car play, reverse parking camera, steering mounted audio controls, rear AC vents, etc. Many new features will come in it which is not currently available in the present Celerio. So technically, Celerio will be placed between WagonR and Swift, so it will basically compete with the lower pricepoint of the Grand i10 Nios, it is because Grand i10 is a tall boy and Celerio is also a tall boy, but Grand i10's price will be higher because it comes with more features, whereas there will be fewer features in Celerio so it won't go that much higher. Celerio might come with safety features like dual airbags, ABS+EBD, etc. but features like traction control and ESP won't be coming in it. This car will come with 2 engine options, first is 1.0-liter Petrol engine and second will be 1.2-liter petrol and both the engine will be coming with 5-speed AMT and 5-speed manual transmissions in it, and 1.0 liter CNG will also be available with 5-speed manual transmission. So because of these reasons, it becomes a good option for you to consider if you want a good package car for the Indian car market. So if you want performance, space, better features, and you don't like WagonR that much, then Celerio becomes an option for you in the market. A diesel engine won't be available with it but a CNG option will be given. The Pricing will be similar to the current car, but the price will be a little bit higher because a 1.2-liter petrol engine has been given. So the expected price of this car is around Rs 4.75 Lakhs to Rs 7 Lakhs, depending on how many features will be offered to it, and if AMT is given to the top model then its price could reach up to Rs 7 Lakhs.

Now your question might come should we wait for it or not?

So if you want to design, space, features, then you could wait for it, or you have other options in the market too like Tata Tiago is one of them, and you have Grand i10 also, and WagonR is also there. So these 3 clear options are available in the market if you need something competitive, Nissan's Magnite also becomes an option for you as it also comes under the same category and price point and also has a similar size of the engine, and other such products are also available for you too.

So if you don't have to hurry to buy a car, you should wait for some time, as many other models will come in the future. So stay tuned to CERadar for more updates.
