Skoda Kushaq |
There are numerous reasons to purchase the Skoda Kushaq, which was launched on Monday. It has a great design, a lot of features, and several gearbox options.
However, there are several reasons why someone might want to add this car to their compact SUV wishlist rather than buy it right away. In this article, we'll be listing all the pros and cons of the Skoda Kushaq so without wasting any more time let's start with the pros of the SUV.
Skoda Kushaq Pros
Ride and Handling
As per the people who have driven the car Skoda has done an excellent job of balancing ride and handling in the Kushaq. At highway speeds, the car is comfortable and steady, and the steering, while light in the city, gains heaviness as the speedometer climbs.
Engine
The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine (150 PS and 250 Nm) is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission in the car. The car pulls strongly because the torque is accessible from 1600 RPM, and the motor enjoys being cranked. Furthermore, even in the BS6 era, this is one commuter car engine that sounds great too. Although we have already tried the 1.0-litre TSI mill, we will hold judgement until we drive and see (if we get a chance) how it performs in the Skoda Kushaq.
Design
Though the Design of the car is subjective it may differ from person to person. From our perspective, it's a great-looking vehicle with just the proper amount of creases to make it appealing to the eye. The design should help the car age nicely, which is a good thing given the current trend of wacky appearance. Skoda, on the other hand, could have avoided the front bumper's false air intakes.
Interior
The Cabin layout of the Skoda Kushaq is elegant and modern, just like the exterior. Of course, as befitting a modern vehicle, even the base model includes features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speakers, 2-spoke steering wheel with height and length adjustments, height-adjustable headrests for all seats, and armrests on the centre console and all doors, with more features to come in the mid and top-spec variants.
Skoda Kushaq Cons
1.5 TSI Offered Only On Top Variant
Skoda should have included the larger engine in the mid-spec variant, at the least with a manual transmission. Curtain and front-side airbags, as well as tyre pressure monitoring systems, are not included in cars equipped with the 7-speed DSG. These features are only available in the 1.5-litre TSI manual version.
Cabin
The Kushaq is 1760 mm wide, therefore three adults in the back seat will be uncomfortable. As a result, it is preferable to keep the room for children or skinny people. The bench seat, on the other hand, is extremely supportive, and rear-seat passengers have plenty of headroom and knee room.
Diesel Engine
We've said it before and we'll say it again: Skoda has to include a powerful diesel engine in its vehicles. This segment continues to draw buyers who want to own a car powered by a diesel engine, and Skoda is likely to feel the spotlight for sticking to its 'no-diesel motto.
Price
This aspect could negate all of the favourable Skoda Kushaq reasons to buy considerations. The standard 1.0-litre TSI model costs Rs. 10.50 lakhs, while the 1.5-litre TSI variant costs Rs. 16.20 lakhs, with the automatic models costing even more. Skoda also has to improve its aftermarket service in India.
