Best Electric Scooter to Buy Now : Ola Vs Ather Vs Simple Energy

The Future is of EVs. We have seen so many Electric Scooters coming into the market. So we'll discuss the three specific ones which we think are the champions in the present scene. Ather 450x is ruling the market as it is still on sale, OLA has got the S1, and Simple Energy has got the One. Now we'll compare all three, and we'll tell you which one is the best. Both the Simple Energy and OLA are still not on sale, but you can pre-book them. But the Ather 450x is available right off the market.

The main reason because of which the OLA Scooter has so much attention is its price point. It starts at Rs 99,999 + Insurance, which is just 1 lakh. If you add the on-road prices, that would only cost around Rs 110,000, not more than that, because there are no registration charges anywhere applicable, specifically in Maharashtra. If you go to different states, the price dropdowns to Rs 80,000 if you're in Gujarat too. So the price point for an electric scooter is brilliant for OLA. At this point, Ather 450x Pro comes for Rs 1,42,000, and Ather 450x Plus comes for Rs 1,29,000. So the price difference is quite a lot, and to make that gap seem worthwhile while OLA has a Pro version too. This Scooter, the S1 Pro, has the maximum range possible and brilliant performance compared to Ather.

So if you notice, Ather has already proven itself, but OLA has got something actually unique. At the same time, the Simple Energy One has been placed between the two models of OLA S1 and S1 Pro. So it comes at the cost of Rs 1,09,999, and if you compared it with the on-road price, it would be Rs 5,000 or Rs 7,000 more according to the insurance that you pay for it. So the price bracket is from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 1,30,000, and that's an excellent number because all the petrol scooters in the 125cc category are starting from Rs 1 lakh category nowadays. Let's talk about those particular points where each and every scooter are best at

The battery Capacity Well, the Simple Energy One has a maximum battery capacity of 4.8 kWh, which has a swappable battery. The Standard battery, which is fixed inside, comes at 3.2 kWh, and the rest of it is in the swappable battery pack, which gives you a range of almost 60 km. Second comes the OLA, as it has 3.97 kWh, and at the same time, it has another version, the plus version or the standard version, that gets 2.98 kWh, which is the same capacity in the Ather. So Ather has the least capacity of 2.98 kWh battery, but the charging time of Ather is the least again, because it charges from 0 - 100% in just 5.5 Hours, for the OLA, it will require approx 6.5 Hours, and the Simple Energy One will take 7 Hours +. But if you have a fast charger or go to any hyper charger, you can charge the OLA's battery up to 75% within 18 minutes. But if you're at home, then you'll be done and ready to go quickest with the Ather. You might even say that IQube Electric is also thereby TVs, and Chetak is there from Bajaj. But then, both these scooters pricing has gone quite high as Bajaj Chetak's price has gone to Rs 1,52,000, which is just too much for the price and then if you consider the IQube, it comes at a perfect cost of Rs 1,30,000, but the range is not that exciting, and that is the reason we're not considering those two scooters as of now. These three scooters, the OLA S1, the Ather, and the Simple Energy One, are actually the performing scooters in electric, which excites the enthusiasts.

Simple Energy One had their scooters in the prototype version, and hence they have not shared the exact specs to the detail, but OLA has shared it. The OLA has the tallest seat height, and if you notice, the scooter doesn't look big, but the OLA scooter is actually even taller than the Ather. If we talk about convenience, then the under-seat storage of the OLA scooter comes around with 36 Litres storage capacity, which is the largest in the segment right now, then comes the Simple Energy One who has a storage space of somewhere around 32 liters and then comes the Ather which has storage space of somewhere around 26-27 liters. So then you can fit a full-faced helmet in all these scooters, but then, OLA claims that you can fit two helmets. Well, that is something quite interesting. In the storage space of Simple Energy One, there is a battery pack that is going inside. That is the reason why there is less storage space in there. Otherwise, there would have been storage wars between Simple Energy One and OLA.

If we talk about Electric Scooters then, Range Anxiety gets to the people all the time. Well, Range Anxiety is dependent on the riding modes that you're on. And saying about riding modes, the Simple Energy One comes with 4 riding modes, Eco, Ride, Dash, Sonic. Similarly, Ather also comes with 4 riding modes, Eco, Ride, Sports, Warp. While the OLA has got 2 riding modes, Normal and Sports, for the standard version and 3 riding modes, Normal, Sport, and Hyper, for the Pro version. The champion is the Simple Energy One in the most efficient riding mode, with an almost 236 km range. That makes it massive, well 236 km from an electric scooter that is something nobody can imagine, but that has been made possible by Simple Energy One. When you come down to real-life riding conditions, it will come down to 200 km, but that is still good enough. Same for OLA, they have claimed  121 km for the standard variant and 181 km for the Pro variant, and if it comes down to real-life conditions, it will come down to around 150 km, which is again pretty nice. And if we talk about the Ather, well, the riding range for this scooter is around from 100 to 50 km, and it depends on the mode you're riding on.

The Ather has a 5.4 kW electric motor driven by a belt-drive, and hence it is a very smooth no-no noise scooter. The OLA has a 4.5 kW electric motor with a maximum power of 8.5 kW, which is a brilliant number. Everyone has been saying that they have got a 7 kW motor, but on the website of Ather Electric, they have mentioned that it has an 8.5 kW motor, which is similar to OLA. Still, the minimum or nominal power is 4.5 kW, which is decent enough to get around. So there is a good punch going around in the Eco mode, which is basically 4.4 kW you consider. Well, if we mention the torque numbers, that excites everyone about the electric scooters. Ather produces around 20.5 Nm torque, the same for OLA at the maximum is 56 Nm, and again for the Simple Energy One, it is close to 72 Nm. Well, this is massive considering it comes at 0 RPM. But things change around quite a lot when we come to weights because Ather weights around 108 Kgs, a little heavier is the Simple Energy One, which is 110 Kgs, and the heaviest over here is the OLA Scooter at 125 Kgs. The overall design of the Ather and the Simple Energy One is very aerodynamic, but for the OLA Scooter, things are not that great because it looks a little odd and has a classic design to it. The wheelbase of the OLA Scooter is the highest at 1359 MM, where at the same time, the Ather is just as long as 1280 MM. Well, you can actually get an idea that the OLA scooter is comparatively bigger if we compare the dimensions.

Ather reaches a Top Speed of 85 - 90 KMPG. At the same time, Simple Energy One has a Top Speed claim of 105 KMPH, and for the Pro variant of OLA, it is 115 KMPH. The Ather has a tire size of 90/90 -12 front and 90/90-12 rear, and the chassis with the suspension balance is just brilliant. This scooter is made for enthusiasts and fun all around. The Ather 450x has also got thicker tire options of 100 - 110 section tire. You could see a similar chassis and a similar suspension design going around for the Simple Energy One, but the OLA Scooter is different altogether. It has a very unique design. It has a tubular frame and has a single suspension at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. All the tires are 110 section tires mounted on 12-inch alloys for all the scooters, but the OLA gets a slightly bigger disc at the front and a slightly smaller one at the rear.

All the scooters have a brilliant digital meter, and they are connected too and have a sim inside, so they are online all the time. Well, there are quite a few unique features that go around with the Scooters. Let's talk about the one with the OLA. The OLA S1 Pro gets Cruise Control. It also gets a Hill Hold and a Proximity Sensor. When you walk towards the scooter, it unlocks itself. Basically, on the OLA, it is a keyless go feature, and you can also connect your phone with the OLA electric scooter and take calls on the scooter itself as it comes with a microphone and a speaker in it. Similarly, in Simple Energy One, you get Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and that is a feature that you have seen in cars and the first time you have seen it in scooters. And also, it runs on a chain, and it doesn't have a belt drive. And if you're particular about having any specific color, OLA offers you almost 10 colors options with the Pro variant. The Simple Energy One will give you 4 color options, and the same for the Ather. It's just 3.

If you look at the current scenario, Ather 450x is the best-performing electric scooter on sale right now. But if you notice, Ather doesn't have any prior experience related to two-wheelers. The same goes for OLA and Simple Energy, and what they are trying to offer looks fascinating on paper. OLA seems they have nailed it with the price point for the S1 scooter, while the same for the Simple Energy, they provide the best range, so the range anxiety is no longer there. As of now, if you want to get yourself an electric scooter right away, go get the Ather as they have been in the market for quite some time, and they now know what goes around, comes around. Well, if you want the EV culture to catch up and don't want to be on the bad wagon, we'll say that more electric scooters are coming. But for now, the OLA S1, Simple Energy One, and the Ather 450x are the best available options in the market. So basically, you're getting more features on a scooter than a Rs 10 lakh car. So make your choice and get yourself an electric one soon.
