MG Astor Launching Soon | India's First SUV with AI inside

For quite some time, MG has been planning to launch a new car in India. The Astor will be the petrol version of the company's ZS electric vehicle. Although the Astor has not been fully revealed by the manufacturer, the groundbreaking technology that it will include has been revealed. The DriveAI technology package has been described by the brand. With this, MG will compete in the Compact-SUV sector, which is currently dominated by the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The brand stated in their communication that the vehicle is a mid-size SUV, which would put it in competition with vehicles like Hector, Harrier, and Tucson. Is that going to be the case? We don't believe so in terms of size. This Rs 10 lakh SUV is the subject of this article.

MG Astor Features

The Astor will be loaded with features. Apart from standard safety features like airbags, ABS, traction control, and other electronics, the Astor is the first vehicle to feature MG's Car As A Platform philosophy. The Astor will include a Personal AI Assistant, Autonomous Level 2 ADAS, and a slew of new i-Smart Hub features. In terms of touchscreen UI and layout, the system is heavily influenced by the MG Gloster.

MG Astor Design

The petrol variant of the ZS EV is the MG Astor. To distinguish the two, the brand has made minor tweaks. The front end of the Astor will be redesigned, with smaller full-LED headlights, a new hexagonal grille, and bulkier bumpers. All of this can be seen thanks to the car's front end being teased. LED taillights, a noticeable fake skid plate, and new bumpers will be added to the back. A new alloy wheel design will also be added to the vehicle. Some of the improvements in the Astor include a floating touchscreen infotainment system, new buttons for the centre console, and individually adjustable headrests for each passenger. The ZS EV's multi-function steering wheel will be used directly.

MG Astor Engine Options

The Astor will most likely only be available with petrol engines from MG. A 1.5-litre petrol engine with 118bhp and 150Nm of torque is likely to be one of the powertrain options. A 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine with 161bhp and 230Nm of torque is the other option. The Astor will be available with both manual and automatic transmissions. MG may provide hybrid choices similar to those seen on the Hector.

MG Astor Pricing

The Astor will most likely be released by the end of 2021, according to MG. The automobile has been observed testing several times, indicating that it would be released soon. The Astor is estimated to cost between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (on-road). We believe the car will be more expensive as a result of all of this technology and assistance. That's all for this post.
