Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime Launched in India: Specification, Price and Availability


Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Redmi 10 Prime smartphone in India, as promised. It is the successor to the Redmi 9 Prime from last year, and it has significant improvements across the board. This smartphone is also a rebranded version of the Redmi 10, which was released globally earlier this month. The Redmi 10 Prime is the first smartphone in India to have the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. With that in mind, let's take a look at the specifications, pricing, and availability of this budget smartphone.

Redmi 10 Prime: Price and Availability

The base model of the Redmi 10 Prime costs Rs. 12,499, while the higher-end 6GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 14,499 in India. On HDFC Bank debit cards, credit cards, and EMI payment options, you may get an instant discount of up to Rs. 750.

Bifrost Blue, Phantom Black, and Astral White will be the three color options for the device.  It will be available for purchase via Amazon India, Mi.com, and at Mi stores from September 7th.

Redmi 10 Prime: Specifications

Starting with the design of the Redmi 10 Prime is identical to that of the Redmi Note 10 series, with a polycarbonate back and a large camera module. A 6.5-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz Adaptive refresh rate is on the front. That means, depending on what's on your screen, the screen can automatically vary between 45Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz. The display features a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a punch-hole selfie camera in the center.

The Redmi 10 Prime is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 processor, which was recently launched. It improves on the Helio G80 chipset used by its predecessor. There's also a dedicated microSD card slot and up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage on board. Up to 512GB of storage can be added. The device comes pre-installed with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

Furthermore, Xiaomi is following in the footsteps of other famous Chinese phone makers by including a "memory extension" function that provides users with virtual RAM. The 4GB+64GB model comes with 1GB of virtual RAM, while the 6GB+128GB variant comes with 2GB. The phone includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual speakers, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.

The smartphone features a 50MP f/1.8 main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor in the camera set. Up to 1080p @ 30FPS video recording is supported by the Redmi 10 Prime.

Finally, there's the battery and charging capacities to talk about. This is the only area where the Redmi 10 Prime varies from the standard model. It has a 6,000mAh battery, which is bigger than the Redmi 9 Prime's 5,020mAh battery. The device supports 18W fast charging (a 22.5W adapter is included in the package) it also supports 9W reverse wireless charging as well.
