Poco Could Launch a Laptop in India Soon, According to BIS Listing

Poco's plans to join the laptop sector in India were leaked late last year when two laptop batteries with the Poco name were discovered on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database. On the BIS website, a Redmi G-series laptop battery with the model number G16B01W has been spotted. It's also mentioned under the Poco brand, implying that a Poco laptop would be released in India soon.

Mukul Sharma, a renowned tipster, first spotted the entry on the BIS database, according to the latest report. The information was subsequently passed on to 91Mobiles by the tipster. According to the source, the Redmi G-series battery, which has a 3,620mAh cell (15.2V, 55.02Wh), is simply a replacement battery for the Redmi G gaming laptop, which was just announced in China.

This could indicate that Poco is planning to offer a gaming laptop in India shortly, potentially a rebranded Redmi G gaming laptop. So, let's have a look at the Poco laptop's expected specs and features.

Key Specifications and Features of the Poco Laptop (Expected)

Poco may rebrand the Redmi G (2021) Gaming laptop and launch it under its own brand name in India, as the Chinese company frequently rebrands Xiaomi and Redmi devices for the worldwide market.

If this is true, the Poco laptop should have the same specifications and features as the Redmi G Gaming laptop. As a result, we may expect the Poco laptop to have a 16.1-inch Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1920 x 1080p resolution.

The laptop could be equipped with an Intel Core i5-11260H or an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor. The Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU may be combined with Intel's Iris XE integrated graphics in the Intel version, while the Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU could be combined with integrated Radeon graphics in the AMD version.

If Poco decides to make the laptop a gaming device, it might include the Hurricane Cooling 3.0 system, which includes five copper heat pipes, 12V fans, and four air outlets to combat thermal difficulties. Furthermore, the laptop may have Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, and you may be able to attach up to three 4K monitors to it at the same time.

All of these specifications and features apply to the Xiaomi Redmi G (2021) gaming laptop. And Poco has yet to confirm, very less tease, anything about its laptop. So, if Xiaomi decides to use the Redmi G-series battery from the BIS database in a new device, the preceding specifications will be irrelevant. As a result, we recommend that you wait for Poco to make an official announcement, which could happen sooner rather than later.

That's all for this post. Stay tuned to CERadar for more such content.
