Uttarakhand Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2021

Uttarakhand Electric Vehicle Policy 2021

Uttarakhand's chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had recently announced the new EV policy for the state, which would be helpful for the people who are planning to buy a new electric vehicle, and the Government's mission is to reduce the pollution the state.

First of all, these incentives from the state are available for the sale of the first 5,000 two-wheelers and the first 1,000 4-wheelers. Now the incentives on two-wheelers will be 10% of the price of Rs 7,500, whichever is lower, and when it comes to a 4-wheeler, it's 5% or Rs 50,000 whichever is lower. The incentives will now be given in the form of subsidies through a bank transfer, a financial institution, or a dealer.

Now to encourage more and more charging stations, the Government has announced that the first 250 charging stations which are set up in the state would also have an electricity bill charged under a domestic which is generally comparatively lower than the commercial category of electricity bills, and this would be applicable for the first 2 years, and that would clearly be boosting for people to set up a charging station and probably make some money out of it by getting a more significant profit when someone uses those charging stations.

EV Policy in Uttarakhand

Again, do note that the people in Uttarakhand will benefit from the fame to the subsidy from the center, but the assistance given by the Government will be helpful for you.

Now, for example, you\re planning to buy a new Tata's recently launched Tigor EV that would cost around Rs 13 Lakh, then you would be getting an additional Rs 50,000 benefit because 5% of Rs 13 Lakh comes down to Rs 65,000. In contrast, the benefit is Rs 50,000 or 5%, whichever is lower. So you're still getting an additional benefit of Rs 50,000 from the Government, but then this is limited to the first 1,000 4-wheeler owners. There are not many other benefits, but these are at least decent benefits given by the state.

So this was all about the EV policy of Uttarakhand. Stay tuned to CERadar for more updates.
